Angela's story is a unique
one. Growing up a country girl in the lovely Peace River
country of Northern British Columbia and Alberta, Canada, her life took a
turn in almost the opposite direction when her family moved to Papua New
Guinea in 1989.
Living in a village where
life was little changed from the stone age, Angela found her teenage years
to be vastly different from the stereotype, far from malls, television and
pop culture, and she learned to value a simpler life. Letter writing
was her link to treasured friends, jungle hiking and outrigger canoeing
became her recreation, and the beauty of
the rainforest fed her love of vibrant, living color.
Angela Fehr's passion for
art is as natural to her as her DNA. From the time she could hold a
crayon, Angela loved to draw, and as she entered her teens, she began
painting in watercolor. Though her life in the jungles of Papua New
Guinea prevented her from taking art classes, Angela began to develop her
knowledge of watercolor technique through trial and error, and to create
her own style incorporating her love of color and line.
Today, Angela lives near
Dawson Creek, BC, back in her beloved Peace country. With her
husband Wade, Angela is raising two daughters and a son, all under the age
of five, and seeing the world through their eyes.
Angela exhibits regularly with the South
Peace Art Society and at the Olde Creek Store in Dawson Creek, BC.

"I do struggle with keeping it simple.
Something in us is always striving for more, more, while another part of
us is yearning to rest, to really savor life. I want to delight in
the small joys of life while still working to be the best version of
myself. As an artist, a parent and an individual, I think that a
willingness to grow and stretch is essential. Knowing that I have so much
further to go is humbling." |
