Artists:
Find artists who inspire diversity in your own art practice. That will help you stretch your boundaries and paint more creatively.
Nanou Jacobs (Instagram) - this artist always pushes me to simplify and I envy her freedom.
Sungsook Hong Setton - her book The Spirit of the Brush is an inspiration! She rarely posts on social media.
Are you ready for the next adventure?
I love seeing familiar faces when I travel to teach workshops! You’re invited to join me on another painting experience - take a look at my current workshop calendar here.
Supply Guide:
Some of the supplies we used have discount codes you can use to order and save. Find this information below.
I get a small commission when you order using these affiliate links. Thank you!
Rockwell Watercolors, use code Angela01 to save 10% on a minimum order of $60. I love the Magic set (particularly Magic Wizard, Obsidian Brown, Lapis Brown, Amethyst) and the Charm Sets. They also have a beautiful hardbound sketchbook that you saw me use at the workshop. Please note that if your shipping seems high, send them an email and ask before you order! Sometimes their site calculates shipping incorrectly.
Lebenzon Brushes, get a discount by using code ANGELA. My favourite brush is the 1.5 inch medium or large goat/synthetic wangi brush which you may have seen me use during the workshop. It’s my “magic wand” for creating fine lines and the shape of this brush means it holds a lot of paint!
Steve Puttrich designed the Fairview Finder to help plein air painters compose stronger paintings. You can order your own Fairview Finder here: https://www.fairviewfinder.com/
Blick Art Materials:
My Daniel Smith Dot Card (these are the colours in my travel palette) I also used Rare Green Earth, Piemontite, Cobalt Blue, Burnt Umber, and Schmincke’s Tundra Violet
Kakimori Dip Pen - this is the pen with the slotted nib that I’ve been using to draw with watercolour
Stabilo Woody Crayons (water-soluble)
