Maybe we should think of light
as a living thing
like a bird (a hummingbird)
or a butterfly
on days when the breeze takes the leaves
and sets them dancing
all in motion
like the flicker of
grandpa’s super-8 reel
playing back my childhood
as a silent film
funny how I remember light
more than sound.
